FC and butyric acid reduces cytosolic pH in guard cells of stomata had been closed by ABA. Strips of Vicia faba were incubated in MES/KCl buffer for 3 h with 10 μM ABA and then treated with fresh MES/KCl buffer alone, or containing 0.1 μM FC, 0.75 mM butyric acid for another 1 h.
