FC and butyric acid reduces cytosol pH in guard cells treated with exogenous H ₂ O ₂ . Isolated epidermal strips were incubated in MES/KCl buffer alone, or containing 0.1 μM FC, 0.75 mM butyric acid, 100 μM H₂O₂, 100 μM H₂O₂ + 0.1 μM FC, 100 μM H₂O₂ + 0.75 mM butyric acid for 3 h at 25°C.
