V. esquirolianae had significantly wider heads than V. javana sp. 1 (T = 2.76, p = 0.008), but the maximum head widths recorded were similar in the two species. There was no significant difference in their head widths (T = 0.88, P = 0.382) nor the lengths of their ovipositors (T = 1.09, P = P = 0.281)
